Onufri was a famous painter in Albania in the 16th century. He is known for his Christian-themed religious paintings, but also painted portraits and landscapes.

Until 1547, he painted in Berat and in 1547 he painted in both Berat and Kostur. After 1554, he lived and painted in the village of Valsh.

Onufri founded a school of painting in Albania, which was passed on to his son Nikolla upon his death.
