Only Hope

Only Hope is a song written by Jon Foreman of Switchfoot which is featured on their New Way to Be Human album.
The song was also sung by Mandy Moore in the 2002 film A Walk To Remember.

The song was seen as very important since it showed Landon and Jamie kiss for the first time. It is believed to be the first climax of the movie. Jamie sings to Landon during the school play where their union is created. And then as the song ends Landon kisses her. It is unclear whether it was scripted (in the play not the movie).

There was supposed to have been a single for Mandy Moore released after "Cry". However, since "Cry" was not a hit, "Only Hope" was canceled. The song "Only Hope" was also not on Moore's 2001 release. A video was shot, although it was largly a duplicate of the movie.
