Conflict: Online is an online Top down shooter created by GameCave Productions, and still in production. The project started mid-2005 as a result of influence from games such as Soldat, Unreal Tournament, America's Army, TimeSplitters, and Call of Duty. The game revolves around an account-based structure - users can create an account, customize it, and then play online (or over a Local Area Network, which does not require an account). Note, the information on this wiki article is based on the depiction from GameCave Productions as to how the final version will unfold. Some information, however, does feature in the current demo.

[edit] Game Types & Weapons

Conflict: Online uses a classic, typical style of online shooter - With commonly known game types (such as Deathmatch and Capture the Flag), as well as some unique one's such as:

  • 'Bully', in which a random player is chosen as the victim and must stay alive as long as possible. When they are killed, a new random victim is chosen.
  • 'Give & Take', similar to team deathmatch, except as players from the other team are killed, they respawn on the team that killed them.

The game uses very general, Modern weapons, such as Machine Guns, Flamethrowers, Rocket Launchers, and Grenades - as well as a few futuristic weapons such as Plasma Cannons. Players select weapons in a unique method - each weapon is worth a certain number of slots according to its power, and the player can select as many weapons as he/she likes as long as the total weapon value does not exceed the number of weapon slots the player has (the number of weapon slots depends on the account experience).

[edit] Accounts and Servers

Players can either create dedicated servers, or non-dedicated. They can also create servers for either Internet or LAN, however internet games require a registration of a free soldier account from the Conflict: Online website. Accounts have saved information such as total kills, deaths, games, wins, losses, bullets shot/hit/missed, accuracy, and a badge system, where you can collect badges as you fulfill certain accomplishments within the game. Accounts can also be improved through offline training missions, which will unlock badges, weapons, maps, and more weapon slots. With accounts, players can also customize their soldier's clothing colours.

[edit] ConflictED Map Editor

Supplied with Conflict: Online will be the ConflictED Map Editor, allowing players to create their own maps, send to their friends, and play online with them. If somebody joins and they do not own the map, they are invited to download the map and continue to play.
