[edit] WikiProject Disambiguation Talk Request

This is a form message being sent to all WikiProject Disambiguation participants. I recently left a proposed banner idea on the WikiProject Disambiguation talk page and I would appreciate any input you could provide. Before it can be approved or denied, I would prefer a lot of feedback from multiple participants in the project. So if you have the time please join in the discussion to help improve the WikiProject. Keep up the good work in link repair and thanks for your time. Nehrams2020 21:49, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Leaf lifespan

Hi Onionmon - thanks for the query; unfortunately, it isn't from any single source, it is from reading up in dozens of books about plants, and seeing the cited the leaf lifespans for a wide range of different evergreen species. I'd guess I've seen cites for well over a hundred different species, and for the great majority, it is 1.1 (old leaves dropping very soon after the new leaves appear) to 5 years. There are a few with longer retention, mostly species growing at high altitude in cold climates, where life proceeds at a slower pace; the Pinus longaeva example cited being the most extreme. Hope this helps! - MPF 23:03, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
