Thanks for the warm welcome, Meelar. (User:Meelar/wel) I'm glad to be here.

[edit] Removed some essays

An anon user (65.6.59.190) posted several lengthy discourses that I'll term "essays" in various articles (Doctrines of Jehovah's Witnesses, Jehovah's Witnesses, Creation, Genesis, and Day). They appear to be copied directly from some existing work (note phrases such as "Chart on page 13", for example), and their source(s) are not listed. They are not Wikified. While I do not neccessarily have any objections to the content, I'm moving the additions to the Talk pages. If the author would care to discuss this, we'll get them Wikified and reincorporated back into the articles. Additionally, on Talk:Creationism, where the essay has already been moved to Talk, other users seem interested in such a reintegration. One-dimensional Tangent 03:09, 4 Nov 2004 (UTC)

To the person who posted the sections that I removed: welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad you're showing an interest in improving articles, and I encourage you to continue being involved. However, it would help if you please would do a few things:

  • Please create a user name. This helps people talk with you so that perceived problems such as this can be resolved more pleasantly for everyone.
  • Please review some of Wikipedia:How to edit a page for information about how to format things correctly.
  • When making very large contributions such as those you made in the Genesis article, please discuss them on the corresponding Talk page beforehand; this is considered good form.

Comments can be posted on this page. Happy editing! One-dimensional Tangent 03:53, 4 Nov 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Jordan stub

I created a {{jordan-stub}} and {{jordan-geo-stub}}, but then discovered the Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting project. Oops. So once again I'm reverting myself (sigh). One-dimensional Tangent 05:02, 4 May 2005 (UTC)

If you feel they'll be useful, go ahead and suggest them for creation at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Criteria. Personally I don't think they would, mind you - they're adequately covered by the two Middle East stub types {{MEast-stub}} and {{MEast-geo-stub}}, and there probably wouldn't be enough stubs to reach the 60-100 stub threshold we use there. Grutness|hello? 07:58, 4 May 2005 (UTC)
No, I never thought they were useful -- just missing. Someone had changed a stub to {{jordan-stub}}, and I noticed that it didn't exist, so I created one. One-dimensional Tangent 23:41, 5 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Chinese Periodic Table Screenshots

I've added them into the talk page of Periodic table (Chinese).--G.S.K.Lee 01:18, 12 May 2005 (UTC)

Thanks! I've cropped and uploaded them and linked them from the article. One-dimensional Tangent 18:25, 13 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Queen Elizabeth II

Please note that I have disputed the neutrality of this article. Jguk reverted my NPOV template, claiming that the NPOV dispute is just a personal campaign of one person. Whig 09:16, 15 May 2005 (UTC)

Reply on Whig's Talk page. One-dimensional Tangent 20:44, 15 May 2005 (UTC)
Which Whig then deleted without explanation. One-dimensional Tangent (Talk) 00:00, 20 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Capitalization

Hi, I've noticed that you've changed many instances of "See also" to "See Also", which is wrong. Please see Wikipedia:Manual of Style (headings). Thanks. Fredrik | talk 22:43, 21 May 2005 (UTC)

Noted. Thanks. One-dimensional Tangent (Talk) 02:22, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] thank you everybody

I would like to express my thanks to everybody helping in the nomination of Antarctic krill. I think 3 1/2 supports and a long long discussion are an unexpected and great outcome for a critter so remote and unknown - you should see how little and poor Antarctic krill is represented in Encarta and Britannica - this is the best reviewed and resourced general article of krill we know of - it is impossible to fullfill all wishes at the same time - this is what we did with our all product peer review stamp to qualify this stage of the article for academic exercises, especially for our dreams of a Virtual university within Wikiversity - good luck to you all Uwe Kils 21:48, Jun 14, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Blocked!

It seems that someone in my dynamic IP has been abusing Wikipedia. Unfortunately, I'm getting blocked for it too. Should a passing admin notice this, I'd appreciate either the block being lifted or this account being made an exception. My edit history should be sufficient testimony that I contribute only positively.

Thanks, One-dimensional Tangent (Talk) 15:51, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

Well, unfortunately, there is no way for an admin to know your IP. You can email the blocking admin if possible, or post the IP here.--Shanel 21:26, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
Eh, the block expired. Which is fortunate, as I really didn't care to post my IP or reveal an email address. Thanks anyway, though. Now if only I could remember what I was going to edit... —One-dimensional Tangent (Talk) 02:08, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
