RTÉ News: One O'Clock

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

RTÉ News at One is the name of two RTÉ News programmes, one a television news bulletin, the other, an extended lunchtime radio news analysis programme.

The programme is broadcast daily (except weekends) on the Irish RTÉ One TV channel. It can also be watched in full as a RealPlayer video stream from its associated Internet webpage.

John Finnerty is the usual presenter of the One O'Clock News. The programme is shorter than other RTÉ News bulletins, running for about 20 minutes. It is followed by Nuacht RTE: Clinlinnte Nuachta, a news summary in Irish which is accompanied by in-vision subtitles (by way of devoting the right half of the screen to a feed from the autocue).

During the summer months, the One O'Clock News is sometimes shortened to an extended summary.

Other RTÉ News programmes include RTÉ News: Six One, RTÉ News: Nine O'Clock, and RTÉ News on Two. On the Internet, the current affairs programs Nationwide, Prime Time and Questions and Answers are also listed alongside these RTÉ News programs.

RTÉ also broadcasts an extended radio news programme - the RTE News at One on RTÉ Radio 1 at 1pm. The programme's presenter is Sean O'Rourke.
From 2005, Dr Gavin Jennings presents on an intermittent basis.
This programme airs for 45 minutes. An extended news bulletin takes up the first few minutes of the programme. This is then typically followed by a series of interviews. It finishes with sports news, business news, and a summary of news from around the regions.
