Oneword Radio is a British commercial radio station featuring books, drama, comedy, children's programming, and discussion. The station is available in the UK via digital radio (DAB) and digital television (Freeview DVB-T, BSkyB DVB-S, and DVB-C providers Virgin Media ), and is streamed on the internet 24 hours a day worldwide. The DAB service only runs between 06:00 and 00:00 because the bandwidth Oneword uses is used for other services during the night.
Oneword has had some serious financial problems and has cut back to a skeleton staff but ownership is now shared between UBC Media group and (since early 2005) the UK's Channel Four (originally just a television station, but now expanding into other media areas such as film making and publishing).
In October 2005 Channel 4 agreed to increase its stake to a majority by buying 51% of Oneword.
Oneword carries the Channel Four Radio daily news broadcast at 7.30 on weekday mornings, The Morning Report, which is produced by the Channel 4 news team.
