One Stayed Clean is the 27th episode of the ABC- Disney Television Show Recess.

It's picture day and everyone is dressed in their best clothes. However at the school the tradition is that before pictures are taken most everyone somehow ends up messy and their fancy clothes are ruined. This year the fourth grade class is scheduled last for their pictures, meaning they have to stay clean all day. It is, however, discovered that due to Gus's constant moving he has never gotten a school picture and that this one is important to him and his family. For this reason the gang vows to keep him safe. A majority of the episode is played out in the style of a stereotypical war movie, with "getting messy" replacing death in typical war situations with each character being "killed" defending Gus from dirt one at a time. Each becomes unable to go on until only Gus and TJ remain minutes before the picture is to be taken.

In the end, after surviving a horrible gauntlet of dirt, Gus's cloths are ruined at the last moment by a bully's thrown tomatoes. However instead of ruining the picture his family sees him as a hero, having taken the tomatoes to protect a friend.
