One, Two, Three, Four, Five
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
One, two, three, four, five is a popular English counting-based nursery rhyme. A common version is as follows.
- One, two, three, four, five.
- Once I caught a fish alive.
- Six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
- Then I let it go again.
- Why did you let it go?
- Because it bit my finger so.
- Which finger did it bite?
- This little finger on my right.
As with many counting-based nursery rhymes, it includes a rhythmic counting to ten with memorable rhymes, and a story to encourage children to listen and repeat it. The question and answer format of the second verse is another common feature of rhymes, as it engages a child and encourages them to play a part.
