[edit] John H. Mulroy Civic Center Theaters at Oncenter

The John H. Mulroy Civic Center at Oncenter is home to the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra and the Syracuse Opera Company. The Crouse-Hinds Theater, the main theater of the center, contains the largest stage in Upstate New York and seats 2,117, on three tiers.

The other two theaters are the Carrier Theater, with 463 seats, and the Bevard Studio, with 162 seats.[2]

[edit] Westin at Oncenter

Set to be completed in 2009, the Westin at Oncenter is a planned 350-room hotel.[3] A hotel had originally been planned when the convention center was being planned in the late 1980s. The Hotel Syracuse, also adjacent to the complex, served as the buildings' main hotel since their respective completions, but its state worsened throughout the 1990s, entering a second bankruptcy in 2001, and closing in 2004. Fear that this was hurting convention center business rekindled plans for a convention center hotel. The Hotel Syracuse is under development to become a mixed-use complex with 155 hotel rooms, 100 apartments, and 70 condominiums.[4]
