The plot involves Charley recounting the story of his honeymoon to his co-workers. For his honeymoon they drive to California.

At the start of the trek they consider taking on hitchhikers and Stan and Oliver are on the side of the road thumbing a lift. Oliver is sat on some luggage and Stan is stood holding an umbrella. Charley remarks that they look like horse thieves, drives by and scratches the top of his head in the same way that Stan does in all of his films. They appear on screen for 13 seconds.
