On Down the Line was not quite the huge success that the previous Honky Tonk Angel had been for Patty Loveless, although it did spawn two singles which made it to #5 on the Billboard Country Singles charts, the Kostas-penned "On Down the Line" and the Matraca Berg/Ronnie Samoset co-write "I'm That Kind of Girl." Other gems are the cover of Lucinda Williams's "The Night's Too Long," and the Paul Kennerley-written "I've Got to Stop Loving You (and Start Living Again)."
