ON is a one man project based in Serbia, Belgrade, in the neighbourhood of Visnjicka banja. It was formed early in the summer of 1995, and it consists of the one-and-only-always-to-be member by the name of ON (aka Vladimir Petkovic). The basic idea was to create an artistic combination of guttural burpings with music samples and various other sounds, which he claimed to be new genre in music, defined as Anarchy Noise (mix of punk, noise, sludge, lo-fi,death metal, breakbeat and some kind of experimental sound). ==
By the end of the summer of 1995, ON had recorded his first demo named Sidrigajlo which contained 10 minutes of brutal burpings and belchings. The demo was published on cassette and has been shared through underground circles. Ten or so copies have been sold, and another sixty have been shared.
By 1996 ON had developed his idea into something more obscene and darker. In the spring of 1997, he decided to record a second demo cassette under called The Podrigy. Much better produced cassette contained mixing of news announcement, guitar riffs, hellish burpings and various commercial samples. This cassette has sold 70 copies, which helped ON to invest in recording the next issue.
Next, and also a legendary demo named Dick and Bolls, were recorded in the summer of 1998, and have been the most successful of ON's demo albums. Cassette increases sale of 150 copies and in just 10 days all print have been sold out. That demo ON recorded for the first time, with additional line up, which consisted Tica Milan and Martinovic Dejan as vocalist and effect maisters. Demo was concept based on story of two friends, named Dick (ON) and Bolls (Tica Milan), and their third pimp stooge, named Ass (voice covered by Dejan Martinovic), which only occupation was to satisfied their sexual obsessions. All other female voices was covered by them, and burping duties were held by ON and Tica Milan. After this demo, Tica and Martinovic decided to leave the band, though they never been so serious interested in ON's material or so.
By the beginning of 1999, ON have signed for his independent record label, named P-records and decided to release his first album, entitled Se Predstavimo. Album gained huge success and sold over 250 copies. That album build cult status, and 'till day it rimained as one of the most inspirefull and creativ works of ON. Album mixed strong and tough burpings with music and various samples, and songs like Boli Me Zub and Okreni were big hits, but still no radio station would broadcast them, since they've been considered to bizzare for opened publicity.
Few days after recording of Se Predstavimo, by strange streams, cassette named 2Live have appeared. This cassette have consisted two live songs (unreleased on any demo or on Se Predstavimo), recorded somewhere in Belgrade. Later on, ON have confessed that this issue was produced and published by him, just to have first unofficial live tape.
In march, ON enter his private P studio to start the recording of second album. Second release by the name of Tuga Pregoljema, was finished in early April of 1999, but when it was to be released, bombing of Serbia started, and album, failed to be presented. Anyway, by the same time, ON decided to gather ex-members from Dick and Bolls demo, and new additional member Acca and Bumbar, to record mini album inspired by bombing of Serbia. Also, this project entitled ON & Jebachi have failed, since no one have paid attention on such thing in Serbia, by the time of Bombing, so ON decided to live all aside for a while.
By the end of bombing of Serbia, ON have re-released Tuga Pregoljema and presented it to the public. Album was better than debut, and sound of keyboards have also been included which makes this album a level up toward the musical expression of first album. Songs like Tuga Pregoljema, Dekine Pitalice, Vozi Misko, Ides mi na Zivce and Idemo, were the top notch of this release.
April of 2000, saw ON releasing the most paled and uninspired album, entitled Koschmar which failed in start, no matter that album was most mature from burping period. Though the songs like You are so beautiful, Koschmar, 1000 Pereca and Picko-song taken and rearranged from ON & Jebachi period, were hits, album was soon to be forgotten.
After this, ON decided to take a huge break, which lasts over the two years. ON have searched for new kind of musical and artistic expression, so in the winter of 2002, ON started to record something completely new, and by the march of that year, new album, entitled Zagudilo appeared. It was very strange release. Almost all burping parts were banished and totally disturbed and crazy clean vocals were included with coverage of keyboards, drums and guitar sounds. Album sales enormously good, and showed ON in totally different musical suite than on previous three releases. From that album ,any hits popped out such as Colic, Sexo Sexo Sexo, Tuki in D Boca, Trice i Kurcine, Novosadjani, Jeb'o te Hitler...After releasing of this album many concert organizers have called ON to be seen live. Album sales reached 500 sold out copies, and have been printed three times, proving that Zagudilo was most sold album 'till date.
Soon, actual album was followed by first mini-album EP; called Protiv, which consisted seven songs, six new and second part of song Kopile from album Zagudilo.
After this supportive EP, ON started with touring across ex-Yugoslavian republics from end of April of 2002, and many of the shows he have played ON have been recorded, and also, by that time, first bootlegs of ON have appeared. For live performance, ON recruited Salle (appeared for the first time as backing vocalist on debut album Se Predstavimo) as drummer and back vocalist and mysterious faceless bass player under name of Vlad Digger, a person with strange behaviour toward audience and band also. His drunk behaviour has always made mess on shows, as he always vomited during the songs, pissing on stage and fight with fans. Drummer Salle couldn't take this on, and during the Croatian leg of tour 2002, he left the band and was replaced by the drummer of name Mohy. Tour ended by December of 2002 and ON decided to take a little break, and decided to put out his first live album, entitled Oprostajni Koncerat 2002 which appeared ten days after dawn of new year-2003. This record consisted recoring of two ON shows held in small club Sobe in Belgrade. Set list was made up by all important hits and also a three unreleased songs, appeared first time on this live album, and also played live. Live album was very cool though ON played all old songs on new way, with new vocal style and live musical following. Production of album was poor but on the other side, this sound show how ON live concert really sound. While live album was released, ON decied to take a little break until he recorded second EP, entitled United by the early spring of 2003. This EP consisted four songs, 2 new tracks and demo Tuki In D Boca from 2001, which consisted title track and bizzare love song Babby Babby Zatvori Oci which was played live couple times during the Serbian part of tour 2002.
After this EP, ON have taken one mini tour across Serbia, which started in the end of April and finished in June.
In autmn of 2003, ON started with making of new album, but some personal things slowed him down and soon, by December of 2003, ON was going into military service, which lasts until summer of 2004. When he came out, he was called by Boris and Valentina Velkov to show up on their Channel 6 studio and performed some of his stuff. That was first time to see ON on television. This show was also released as ON's first video divx cd, and besides classic songs, ON have performed for the first time, one new song, entitled Rkekokedrkdum. Short after this public performance, ON recorded his first official video clip for a song I Wanna You from United EP. Video clip was hilarious, but gained on big time public attention in his hood of Visnjicka Banja. By the close up of 2004, ON performed live in club G-Place in front of the friend and relatives and it was his first big time comeback show. He performed all his classics and some new songs, which were prepared for his new, not yet released new studio album. On this show, ON performed solo, with acoustic guitar and keyboards.
Day before this show, ON recorded his second video clip, named Rkekokedrkdum and until today, it was remained as most professionally shot ON clip.
In January of 2005, third clip was to be shot, for song Roditelji which appeared along with Rkeokedrkdum on album Shit Happen's released in march of 2005. But before the full-length album release, ON released his first and only maxi single, entitled Manijak. This maxi single consisted of three versions of songs Manijak, original version and two remixed versions arranged by ON and Salle.
After that single, ON appeared live in NBG club in Blockhood of Belgrade, with Acca in line up, played on guitar. This show was shot with video cameras, and it was recorded for ON's first official DVD release. This concert contained classics from all albums, and also 6 of new songs arranged for upcoming Shit Happen's album.
In April, Shit Happen's has appeared, as ON's long time awaited fifth studio album, which consisted 13 brand new songs and couple of bonuses as cover versions of some Serbian children's and pop songs. On this album, Salle and Acca have helped ON with guitar sounds and vocals. Also, this album managed to be most progressive release 'till date, and contained most melodic parts in ON carriers. ON also played tones of guitars, keyboards and basses.
In autmn of 2005, new EP, and most commercial release of ON 'till date appeared. It was mini album Oduvek Sam Voleo Kerove, contained eight songs about dogs. EP also contained some remixes,of songs present on that release.
After this release, ON played couple of live shows, and by the beginning of winter of 2005, he entered his P studio, to start making of his first official DVD.
DVD, entitled Ja Sam ON will be released in spring of 2007, and by that time ON will also start to record his sixth full-length issue.
Some of new songs are already finished and titles are: Gospodji Pomiluj,Zibe, Mater, Budaletina, Michael Dudikoff, Techno Mix (By Salle), and also, video for Zibe was recorded as this song is predicted to be ON's first single from this not yet released sixth album, which title will be Da Li Je To Musper Sad?
Considering co-operation with some of the members on is still in touch with Salle and Acca, and also with new member, keyboard player by name of Charlie. All ON's artwork and all of the albums were designed and produced by Vladimir Petkovic.
