[edit] History
Omskavia was split off from Aeroflot in the early 1990s and was formed as a result of the separation of Omsk State Air Enterprise into airline and airport enterprises. It was established and started operations on 1 February 1994. The airline is owned by Omsk employees (59.52%), the state (20%), and other shareholders (20.48%). There have been rumours of a takeover by Siberia Airlines or KrasAir.
[edit] Services
Omskavia has regular scheduled flights to Moscow, Nizhnevartovsk, Sochi in Russia, and Frankfurt, Hannover, Köln in Germany. It also charters flights to the Mediterranean, Middle Eastern resorts and Thailand.
Since 1996, Omskavia has been leasing airplanes to Iranian Mahan Air. In 2006, 4 of Omskavia's Tu-154M are scheduled to fly in Iran.
[edit] Fleet
The Omskavia fleet includes the following aircraft (as of August 2006):
- 2 Tupolev Tu-154M
- On order: 4 Tupolev Tu-214[2]
The summer of 2003 agreement between Omskavia and Kazan Plant (KAPO) to acquire 4 Tupolev Tu-214 aircraft was cancelled due to financial issues.
