In 1963, the Bio-Chem Club officially established itself as an academic Fraternity. The initial emphasis of the Brotherhood was that of a pre-professional health honor Fraternity designed only for health-science male students.

Changing with the times in 2004, the fraternity had adapted to incorporate a more general, diverse student population. Currently, the Brotherhood is designed around a pre-professional title and is open to all male students of all educational backgrounds.
[edit] Preamble
“A male Fraternity organized to stimulate higher intellectual achievement, to instill loyalty and continued affiliation with the activities of the University, to cultivate a deeper sense of moral values, and to further Brotherhood amongst male students at the University of San Francisco.”
[edit] Crest
During Omicron’s first year as a Fraternity the founding brothers came up with a crest unlike the crest used currently. The original crest was in the form of an equilateral triangle. During Omicron’s second year, in 1964, they adopted a newer crest to represent the Fraternity. The second crest was designed to represent the pre-dental and pre-medical emphasis with the according symbols in the upper right and lower left portions of the crest.
The newest crest was adopted in 2003 as a representation of intertwining past and current eras.
Symbol The official symbol of the Fraternity is the “Griffin”. It was adopted by the Brotherhood on May 4, 2004 during a general meeting.
