Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) is the first telecommunications company in Oman and the only provider of Internet services.

Omantel PowerNet is the Internet service that is used by ADSL, it has been greatly improved over the past two years, after the new Nawras Telecommunications company was introduced to the Sultanate. Omantel is still the leading telecommunications company in Oman, but in heavy competition with Nawras.

Oman Mobile is a subsiderie of Omantel that is an industry in mobile phones with 80% of total mobile communications subscribers in Oman (the other 20% subscribe to nawras, the second Mobile Telecommunication company in Oman). Now the number of users of Oman Mobile is 1,000,000 subscribers which is about 50% of the Omani population.
