Olkiluoto
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Olkiluoto is an island located in western Finland in the municipality of Eurajoki.
Olkiluoto is home to two of Finland's four nuclear power plants, the other two situated in Loviisa, and the first EPR (European Pressurized Reactor) is being built there. After the Finnish Nuclear Energy Act was amended in 1994 so that all nuclear waste produced in Finland must be disposed of in Finland, Olkiluoto has been determined to become the site of disposal of Finnish nuclear waste.
