Olivia Cole (born November 26, 1942) is an American actress.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Cole was the first Afro-American actress to be nominated for and win an Emmy Award. Her television credits include The Guiding Light,Roots, Backstairs at the White House, Something about Amelia, North and South, Book I, and Brewster Place.
Cole's Broadway credits include The School for Scandal, You Can't Take It with You, The Merchant of Venice, and The National Health.
Coles, an honorary member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, has been retired since 1995.
