[edit] Personal life

Born in Essex in England, as the second oldest of three brothers, Oliver left British shores with his family in 1974 to set up camp in Brisbane, Australia. Oliver's parents realised that he was very musical at a young age and encouraged him to follow his heart. The same was the case of Oliver's younger brother Daniel Jones – who would eventually become one half of the hugely successful Australian pop duo Savage Garden – as well as his older brother Jonathan Lee Jones.

[edit] Musical career

[edit] Early years

Jones started playing the guitar at the age of 11 and by 16 was playing in his first rock band. When Jones was around 20 years old, he was in a band called Red Edge. The band's members also included his younger brother, Daniel, and Darren Hayes, who would eventually be the other half of the duo Savage Garden. Oliver's vocal ability was also growing stronger year by year and, by 21, he was fronting his own band. Writing songs and recording them in his own production company by 23, Oliver was then signed worldwide by EMI Music Publishing.

[edit] Accomplishments

Jones has had his works released by Sony, EMI, and Roadshow Music artists to name a few. His constant hard work has taken him to the USA on numerous occasions to work with international producers and songwriters. He has worked and written with Tom Lord-Alge, Roger Sommers, Clif Magnus, Mark Goldenberg, Chrissie Amphlett, Kate Ceberano, Danielle Brisebois, Savage Garden, Steven Haigler, and many, many more.

He helped produce and engineer Savage Garden's demo recordings before they got a recording contract and mixed "Santa Monica" on Savage Garden's self-titled debut album, which ended up selling more than 11 million units. Oliver has also mixed numerous B-sides.

His production company credits artists such as Melissa Tallon, Adam Thompson (of Chocolate Starfish), and Sean Ikin. Oliver also played guitar tracks on two Australian number-one hits by Shannon Noll and Paulini of Australian Idol fame.
