Oleksandr Mikolaiovich Sharkovsky

Oleksandr Mikolaiovich Sharkovsky (born December 7, 1936 in Kiev, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian mathematician who is best known for an important theorem on continuous functions that he proved in 1964. Sharkovsky's main topics of interests are the theory of dynamical systems, the theory of oscillations, and the theory of stability.
