Olde English District

The Olde English District is a region of South Carolina encompassing Chester, Chesterfield, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lancaster, Union and York counties as well as the communities of Camden, Clover, Fort Mill, Lake Wylie, Pageland, Rock Hill, and Woodruff.

The district is not a historical one, but a tourism device, hence the anachronistic spelling of 'old', and the inaccurate use of the Union Flag as a logo, which would conventionally refer to British rather than English things. It is considered to be named after the large number of English immigrants in the 1770s as well as the siting of several battles in the American War of Independence.
