Old Guard is a term to describe the antebellum and Reconstruction Era Southern Aristocracy, especially in major cities like Charleston, SC.
- In Politics, Old Guard refers to the Old Right group of libertarian, free-market anti-interventionists.
- In the Military, Old Guard refers to members of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, the main body of troops protecting Washington, D.C., and well known for guarding the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington.
