Old Monk

Old Monk is a vatted Indian Rum, blended and aged for 7 years (though there is also more expensive, 12 year old version). It is dark, with an alcohol content of 42.8%. Old Monk is the world's third largest selling rum.[citation needed] It is produced by Mohan Meakin, based in Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Although available everywhere in India, the Old Monk connoiseurs in USA can obtain the spirit in Liquor stores owned by Indians in many states with a large Indian population. The cost of a regular bottle (750 ml) is $14-16, that makes it about four-five times more expensive than its price in India (various states have different excise policies, hence marignal difference).
