Alleyn Club

[edit] Rugby team

There is an Old Alleynian Football Club which is steeped in tradition. It was formed way back in 1898 and thus uses the term 'Football' as opposed to 'Rugby' in its name. The club was formed by and for former pupils of Dulwich College.

The team are based on Dulwich Common and are involved in league rugby. They have reached as high as London first division and have also been finalists in the Surrey Cup three times, winning twice.

In 2003, the Old Alleynians beat Shipston upon Stour 16 -10 in the final of the Powergen Junior Vase, held at Twickenham. This was the same year that saw the club lose half of its clubhouse, destroyed in a fire.

Former Players include Edward George, Baron George, Roger Knight, Nick Lloyd, Nick Easter, Mark Easter
