Olallie Scenic Area

Olallie Scenic Area is a United States Forest Service designated Scenic Area located in Oregon’s Cascade Mountains. The name Olallie is Chinook Jargon for berry.
Located in Jefferson County at 4,500 feet above sea level the area is home to Olallie Lake. The area has numerous other lakes, and the Pacific Crest Trail runs through the area. Olallie is in the shadow of Mount Jefferson within the Mount Hood National Forest. Olallie Butte overlooks the area and is partially on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation.
Recreation includes camping at Forest Service improved campgrounds, cabins and yurts at the Olallie Lake Resort. The use of motor boats are prohibited on the snow melt fed alpine lakes by ORS 830.180; the Olallie Resort has paddle boats and rowboats for rent. Olallie Lake is stocked with rainbow trout.
Access is via Forest Road 4690 from Skyline Road (FSR 42), neither of which is maintained in the winter.
