Although pilots try to return to their home airfields, an outlanding is sometimes necessary. After landing in a field, the glider pilot must wait for a friend to bring the trailer. It takes about 20 minutes to de-rig a glider and put the components in a trailer. In this photo can be seen a red semi-circular cradle in which the fuselage rests and a trestle to support one wing while the other is being removed.
