State Highway 16 (OK-16 or SH-16) is a state highway in Oklahoma. It runs in an irregular 99.2-mile[1] west-to-east pattern through the northeastern part of the state, running from OK-33 at Drumright to OK-51 at Wagoner. There are no letter-suffixed spur highways branching from OK-16.

[edit] Route description

OK-16 begins at OK-33 on the east side of Drumright, in western Creek County. From there, it travels six miles south to the town of Shamrock, then 13 miles roughly southeasterly to the city of Bristow.

OK-16 is briefly duplexed with OK-48 and OK-66 through Bristow.

On the south side of Bristow, OK-16 heads east, then south, 10 miles to the town of Slick, then continues another 12 miles east to Beggs, where it junctions with US 75 Alternate.

Four miles east of Beggs, OK-16 intersects US 75, a four-lane expressway connecting Tulsa and Okmulgee. From there it runs due east, intersecting OK-52 near the community of Bald Hill.

Twelve miles after OK-52, OK-16 joins up with US 62/US 64, six miles south of Haskell. Five miles later, SH-162 branches off to the north, connecting with the town of Taft, and in another eight miles enters the city of Muskogee along Okmulgee Street.

In Muskogee, OK-16 meets US 69 at 32nd Street, and turning north, forms a brief triplex (US 62/US 69/OK-16). At Shawnee Bypass, US 62 and OK-16 turn east, and are duplexed three miles to York Avenue, where OK-16 turns north on its own again.

OK-16 crosses the Arkansas and Verdigris Rivers, and passes under the Muskogee Turnpike, intersecting with OK-251A in Okay. Eight miles farther to the north and west, OK-16 ends at OK-51, on the south side of Wagoner.
