Okeechobee Road

Okeechobee Road, locally known as either Okeechobee Road and U.S. Route 27, is an off-grid plan street that begins northwest of downtown Miami in Miami-Dade County, Florida where U.S. Route 27 intersects with LeJeune Road at the extreme southeast corner of the city of Hialeah.

It continues northwest, as East Okeechobee Road, dividing Hialeah to the north with the Okeechobee Canal and the city of Miami Springs to the south, until crossing Palm Avenue, where it becomes West Okeechobee Road.

It continues northwest, dividing Hialeah with Miami Springs until it crosses under the Hialeah Expressway, where it divides Hialeah with Medley.

It continues northwest, dividing Hialeah and Medley until it crosses under the Palmetto Expressway (State Road 826) where it divides Medley to the south, with the city of Hialeah Gardens to the north.

It continues northwest, dividing Hialeah Gardens with Medley, until it crosses Northwest 107th Avenue, where it enters unincorporated Miami-Dade County.

It continues due northwest as West Okeechobee Road or U.S. Route 27, curving due north after crossing Northwest 137th Avenue.

It becomes Okeechobee Road after crossing the Broward County line at Northwest 202nd Street (Honey Hill Road).

It enters the city of Pembroke Pines after crossing the county line, and continues due north into Broward County.

It continues north through Pembroke Pines, exiting Pembroke Pines near Sheridan Street and continuing north into unincorporated Broward County.

It continues north into unincorporated Broward County until it crosses Griffin Road at the extreme southwest corner of the city of Weston, where it is no longer called Okeechobee Road, only U.S. Route 27.
