Okanagan College is a public, post-secondary institution with over 120 certificates, degrees and programs located in British Columbia, Canada. Established more than forty years ago, Okanagan College has since grown to be the largest college in British Columbia outside the Lower Mainland and Victoria with over 5,400 full-time students on four regional campuses. Quality education combined with personal one-on-one attention has further added to the College’s reputation and high-level of student satisfaction.
With its roots dating back to 1965, Okanagan College has always played an important role in the development of the region. Formerly called Okanagan University College, on July 1, 2005, it was divided into Okanagan College and UBC Okanagan. In 2006 Okanagan College operated four main campuses, Kelowna, Penticton, Vernon and Salmon Arm, as well as many smaller access centres.
Students coming to Okanagan College will find that its location in south-central British Columbia has much to offer. The region is famous for its scenic lakes and mountains, high quality of living, and the great year-round activities. Recreational opportunities include some of Canada’s best golf, skiing, water-sports and snow-boarding. The Okanagan region is also famous for its wineries and acres of fruit orchards. With a regional population of 360,000 and Canada’s 9th busiest airport, the Okanagan offers great amenities and easy domestic and international transportation links.
Approximately 350 international students from over thirty countries currently study at Okanagan College. Programs that may be of interest to international students include: ESL courses/language training, vocational and trades programs and four-year degrees in both Business and Computer Information Systems. Many students also choose our university transfer program which allows students a smooth transition and cost-saving entry method into many of Canada’s most prestigious universities. The College also has a long history of successful study tours, student exchanges and customized group training programs.
