The Oil Heritage Route travels along former Kings Highway 21 (now Lambton CR 21) from its interchange with Kings Highway 402, through Wyoming, Ontario, Petrolia, Ontario, Oil City, Ontario, Oil Springs, Ontario, and curving east and south into Dresden, Ontario, meeting the African-Canadian Heritage Tour route, which leads into Windsor, Ontario.

This route is still signed, at least unofficially (see below for explanation).

Lambton CR 21's name (for all parts north of Rutherford, Ontario) is "Oil Heritage Road".
