Ohlone School

Ohlone Elementary School is a public elementary school in Palo Alto, California United States. It serves kindergarten through fifth grade(2006-2007 school year). Students from Ohlone typically attend Jane Lathrop Stanford Middle School and Palo Alto High School. It's mascot is a worm in an apple. Fundamental to an Ohlone education is a set of core values which distinguish Ohlone from Palo Alto neighborhood schools. In applying these values, Ohlone focuses on the process of learning and strives to produce alumni who:
- seek opportunities to continue learning
- can develop strong positive social interactions
- can make decisions and take responsibility for the rersulting outcomes
- are able to discover and draw on all available resources
- are well-rounded individuals
As of 2006-2007, the school principal is Susan Charles.
An after-school daycare, Ohlone Kids' Club, is available on the campus but is run separately from the school board by the Palo Alto Community Child Care organization.
There are currently about 420 students in attendance.

Ohlone adopted an "open education" approach in 1976 and has since gained wide recognition as an innovative, pace-setting school.{fact}
[edit] The Monkey King
The Monkey King (Sun Wukong) is a production directed by Otak Jump[1] starring Ohlone students every three years. The last production was on February 9th, 10th and 11th, 2006. In Ohlone, everybody who tries out gets a part, but some are more major than others. The show does not do all the stories, but only Monkey in heaven and his adventures with the Tang Priest.
