State Route 778 is a north-south state highway in the northern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. Its southern terminus is at State Route 101 about 9 miles northeast of Tiffin, and its northern terminus is at State Route 19 three miles south of Green Springs. The route provides southbound travellers of State Route 19 easier access to southbound State Route 101. State Route 19 jogs east from State Route 778's northern terminus, and State Route 101 traverses a southwest-northeast heading when the two routes cross, making right turns from State Route 19 onto State Route 101 very difficult, especially for semitrucks. State Route 228 serves a similar purpose for northbound travellers of State Route 19 east of this intersection.
