State Route 638 (SR 638) is a two-lane north-south state highway that runs exclusively within Logan County. Its southern terminus is at U.S. Route 68 just over 6 miles north of the city of Bellefontaine, and its northern terminus is at State Route 273 at the extreme southern point of the village of Belle Center. The topography along the highway is mostly farm fields, although it also passes several small wooded areas. The highway passes through the small crossroads of Northwood (not the same as the Toledo suburb) about halfway between Belle Center and US 68.
