State Route 550 is an east-west state highway in the southeastern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. Its western terminus is at an interchange with U.S. Route 33 about 2½ miles north of Athens (the southern terminus of State Route 13 is just east of this interchange), and its eastern terminus is at at the interchange with State Route 7 just south of Marietta. The route was known as Alternate U.S. Route 50 until that certification was removed in 1975. Today this quiet, senic road passes numerous landmarks along the way like the Coonskin Library and Gifford State Forest.

- 1975 – Original route certified; entire route was the former State Route 26 from 1924-1926[2], the former U.S. Route 50N from 1926-1935, and the former Alternate U.S. Route 50 from 1935-1975; no significant changes since its certification[3].
