The following chart shows the results of the elections for the 20th congressional district of Ohio, which was eliminated in the redistricting following the 1990 census. Bold type indicates victor. • Redistricting following the 1990 census eliminated the 20th district and put Oakar in the 10th district. In 1992, she lost the 10th district race to Republican Martin R. Hoke.

• After Mooney's death in office in 1931, Sweeney was elected in a special election to fill out the remainder of Mooney's term.
