OH-771st AFJROTC

The OH-771st Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps is a small JROTC unit established in Lebanon High School, Lebanon, Ohio. A Squadron-level unit, the 771st usually holds around 50 Cadets enrolled each year. It is currently led by Senior Aerospace Science Instructor Lieutenant Colonel Claude Keeling and Aerospace Science Instructor Master Sergeant Thiergart.

The OH-771st partakes in many activities each year. These Include:

[edit] Unarmed IDR

The OH-771st has a relatively small Inspected Drill Routine (IDR) team with approximately 20 cadets. It has been active for a very long time and has won numerous trophies over the years. In addition, the Drill Team hosts an annual drill meet around April of each year. The meet usually involves around a dozen units from primarily Ohio and West Virginia. There are a ful compliment of categories in which to compete with trophies are awarded to the best teams.

The Inspected Drill Routine (IDR) team supports a small "Armed" team as well; the Armed team performs with rifles in its routines where the Unarmed team does not. This team has also won several honors and trophies at various Drill Competitions.

The OH-771st Color Guard unit has partaken in many activities, including drill competitions and presenting the colors at various school sporting events. The team has also participated in various parades such as on memorial day.

[edit] Summer Leadership School

The Ohio 771st partakes in the annual Ohio Valley Summer Leadership School at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. The cadets there normally participate in ten days of rigorous activities teaching teamwork, leadership, and military values. The school is held in June and normally includes many cadets from other units as well; including the OH-081st AFJROTC.
