Oele

Oele is a hamlet in the municipality of Hengelo in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is situated southwest of Hengelo, along the road to Beckum and Haaksbergen.
The current water mill, the most characteristic building of Oele, De Oldemeule, was built in 1690.
In 1907 painter Piet Mondriaan painted "Het bos bij Oele" (the forest near Oele) and "De rode wolk" (the red cloud), while staying with his friend Albert G. Hulshoff Pol.
