Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Obsession starts in Archangel's place, he has become obsessed with finding something about Apocalypse that he can use to kill him. The Scientists he hired find a tablet, which says that Apocalypse can't be destroyed. His scientists says that all the evidence they have found says that Apocalypse can't be destroyed. but Archangel doesn't listen. Later one of his scientists find a scroll that says that behind Apocalypse's neck is a spot, and the writing says that if that spot is pierced then Apocalypse will be no more. Right then one of his satellites spots Apocalypse near New York harbor. So, Archangel leaves right away. Then he finds Apocalypse and heads straight towards him. Then Apocalypse punches Archangel.

Then the scene cuts the X-Mansion. At the X-Mansion, Professor X's computer says that with new Shi'ar circuitry, he was able to detect a mysterious vessel that is more than a mile long and disappears right after detection. Suddenly the computer gives the X-Men an alert of mutant activity in Liberty Island, and says that Archangel is fighting Apocalypse. So the X-Men leave for Liberty Island right away. At the island the X-Men battle Apocalypse. The X-Men couldn't even scratch him. Later Apocalypse just flies away. The X-Men take Archangel to the X-Mansion.

Later at the X-Mansion, Professor X and Beast figure out that the ship they spotted was a living ship, open to reasoning. Then Beast says, it is the weapon we need against Apocalypse. Later the X-Men again spot Apocalypse, so Archangel leaves right away, and Rogue and Gambit follow him. Wolverine, Cyclops, and Beast go to find the ship. When they find the ship, they get permission from the ship to board it. Beast tries to bypass Apocalypse's security to turn his ship against him, and he succeeds. He creates a forcefield to imprison Apocalypse. suddenly all the doors around them shut-down, the ship tells them that Apocalypse has planted a security measure for them.

Then the scene cuts to Rogue and Archangel, Archangel asks Rogue to support him in attacking Apocalypse and Rogue agrees. But Gambit tries to stop Rogue, saying that innocent people could get hurt. But Rogue attacks anyway. Then Gambit also starts shooting at Apocalypse. Then Apocalypse says, "Resist me, and you shall be obliterated like your friends." Then he flies off. So, Rogue, Archangel, and Gambit follow Apocalypse.

Back on board the ship, Apocalypse had planted a bomb, so the ship helped them find a way to diffuse it. Then Apocalypse comes on board the ship. Then Apocalypse steps in the area with the force field and Beast turns it on. Archangel also comes and tries to shoot him, but the force field reflects his attacks. In anger Archangel destroys the ships computer and starts a fire. Beast tells him, that Apocalypse is imprisoned here forever. But Apocalypse had already planned for it, and just says a code and the force-field drops. So the X-Men keep Apocalypse busy, while Beast tries to find a way to stop Apocalypse. Beast over-rights Apocalypses security code and the ship starts attacking him and later traps him in the force field again. Then the X-Men get on board the Blackbird and go away because the ship was loosing power. The ship then creates a pod around the force-field, which is then sent into space. The ship tells Beast that Apocalypse will return, but for now your people are safe. Because Archangel had started the fire and destroyed the computer earlier, the ship lost its energy (which had kept it running for centuries) and sinks in the ocean. Then the X-Men go back home.
