commercial links?
Hello Obli,
You've sent me a message saying: "Please do not add commercial links (or links to your own private websites) to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links to the encyclopedia as we drive for print or DVD publication; see the welcome page to learn more. Thanks. Obli (Talk)? 11:44, 1 March 2006 (UTC) "
I am not sure to understand. I do understand that wikipedia, as an encyclopedia is not an advertising place, and certainly do not want to use it as such. The only goal of having an article on Pyramix (professional audio editor/recorder) is to play the wiki game, since I believe this is a fantatic evolution of the web. Being in such an open-minded evolving encyclopedia just seems logical. By the way, many other companies in the same "market" do have article(s) with loads of external links to their websites and ad type phrases : check en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protools, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cubase, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuendo, etc... This said, I don't think they should disapear. I've copy/pasted the older (more detailed) text in en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PyramixVirtualStudio (which is the complete name of the application). Tell me if I should remove it, but I won't if this same "non-commercial-page-on-wikipedia" logic is not applied to the other companies.
And thumbs up for your wikiwork.
Bye,

Thanks for your efforts
I must thank you for your quick effort, and endorsing my reversions on the Green Day page. Psychomelodic is nothing more than a sock puppet, who is being used to vandalise this page. This user has already made an unnecessary edit on my page [1]. He was blocked for violating the WP:3RR on Green Day.
The links are [2], [3], [4], [5], [6].
He was the one who posted that link in the first place, to the website. [7].
This user has been disturbing and disrupting the work of other users and has already posted messages on their respective talk pages. [8], [9], [10], [11], [12] [13]
And the list is endless. If you check out his contributions [14], it seems that he has vandalised Billie Joe Armstrong as well. And I have this reason [15] to believe that he has some personal grudge against Green Day.
He has made some changes on this page as well. It is subtle and I am not the best person to comment on it. I would request you to look at it [16]. All of his contributions will have to be put under an analysis.
The posting of the link clearly shows his malicious intent for disrupting the process on Wikipedia.
'Someone here is obviously feeling uncomfortable with criticism' <--- this was his response when I removed the so-called criticism from the page. The material listed on the website is not POV material, but absolute bullshit.
Excerpts from the Webpage: Green Day Sucks
Top 10 reasons to HATE Green Day
10. They suck.
9. They suck ass.
8. They suck smelly ass.
7. They suck smelly, crusty ass.
6. They suck smelly, crusty ass with bits of corn in it.
5. It might be more fun to eat your own intestines than listen to them.
4. They claim the music they play is punk rock, but it is really better described as a lot of crap.
3. Your mom likes them, because she likes bands that suck.
2. Your granpa is in the band. He is their fluffer.
And the #1 reason to HATE Green Day
1. They exist, therefore they should be hated.
I had the misfortune of interviewing Green Day some time back. What follows is the transcript. Here is the guide to identify who is who.
ME - That would be me. The interviewer.
BJ - That is Billy Joe Armstrong - chief whiner of the bunch.
MD - That's Mike - he plays bass, just not well.
TC - That's Tre Cool. He is really extra lame.
ME "So, how did the band form?"
BJ "Well, first off, my mother was a prostitute. One time she got arrested during the day. She was so ugly the police wouldn't touch her without rubber gloves. Nobody would. She made a lousy prostitute. Now I don't think she had leprosy, but I swear sometimes I found chunks of her skin in my soup."
ME "That's great, but it doesn't answer my question."
TC "Do you like my name? I mean, I think it's cool, and Billy likes it, but what does everyone else think?"
MD "We got together as a band because nobody else would jam with any of us. Or play with us. Or talk to us. Or look at us."
ME "Was that because you sucked so much?"
MD "Yeah, probably."
BJ "I think my mom formed this group. That whore."
ME "How many years were you together before the band became popular?"
BJ "Well, first off, I don't know."
ME "Uh, okay. Good. What was your first album?"
BJ "I forget."
ME "Doesn't matter. Were you all aware you sucked, or were you able to fool yourselves?"
TC "Wait, what do you mean? What are you saying? We're cool, right? I mean, my name is Tre Cool. That's a cool name, right?"
MD "Yeah, we knew. We always knew. Except Tre. He's not smart."
ME "I'm betting he coudln't figure out how to stand up by himself."
BJ "Leave him alone...he stopped peeing in his pants. He's doing good. Hey, do you have time to listen to me whine?"
ME "No."
BJ "Ahh, are you sure?"
ME "I'd rather carve out my own eyeballs."
BJ "My mom always has time to listen."
ME "That whore!"
BJ "Hey, what are you saying about my mom?"
ME "That she's a whore."
BJ "Oh, yeah, that's true. Cool."
TC "What? What? Did you say something to me?"
ME "For my last question, when will you shut up and go away?"
BJ "Well, first off, I don't know."
MD "I suppose when people stop buying our albums."
ME "I've never bought one of your albums."
BJ "Why not?"
ME "Because you suck."
BJ "Oh yeah. Good thinking."
ME "Well, thanks for wasting my time. I hope you all implode."
I propose that Psychomelodic be banned once again. --Andy123 01:04, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

Congratulations! It's my pleasure to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator. You should read the relevant policies and other pages linked to from the administrators' reading list before carrying out tasks like deletion, protection, banning users, and editing protected pages such as the Main Page. Most of what you do is easily reversible by other sysops, apart from page history merges and image deletion, so please be especially careful with those. You might find the new administrators' how-to guide helpful. Cheers! -- Cecropia 20:19, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

- From what I can tell, and what a user suggested in January, this puppetmaster might have autism. Select interest in certain categories (in this case, radio stations he listens to, Paint mock-ups of games and stations he enjoys), persistant resistance to behavioral correction. I've not worked with persons with autism before (I guess cleaning up his entries could count as my first), so I can't say with certainty. However, it would appear as though adding random stuff to Wikipedia is a little game in his head, or he's under the impression that typing text on an orange background is encyclopedic enough for him. Again, I can't say with certainty. --KHill-LTown 18:40, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

My RFA
Thanks for supporting my RFA. I really appreciated the show of support and all the kind words from so many great Wikipedians. I hope I live up to them! -- Vary | Talk 17:12, 12 March 2006 (UTC)Scott Robert Donald Sinclair
Hello,
I'd like to comment that I spent an inordinate amount of time creating a biography of Scott Robert Donald Sinclair, a local musician who is popular in Ontario, using various sources and biographies from other independent music magazines as a guide.
I think that you prematurely deleted the article either because you are ignorant to Canadian and Ontarian musical culture or because you thought it to be a joke. Either way, you are wrong and I would like to ask you to repost the WikiPedia article. Just because you have no interest in the topic does not mean that others in Canada do not. Furthermore, the amount of time it took for you to delete the article was not satisfactory, as there is no way that you could have read the article in that amount of time.
I find your techniques both immoral and unethical, and find your deletion completely offensive on a cultural level. As a Canadian citizen and avid lover of music, I am appalled at an encyclopedia that contains articles on cum shots, soggy biscuits, mammory intercourse, and actually implies that all black people are crackheads (see article on cocaine), yet won't permit an article on an aspiring Canadian musician.
Thank you for your time, and I hope to see the article posted again soon.
Thank you,
Tyler Hicks —The preceding unsigned comment was added by E7 (talk • contribs) .
Drive for Swedish quality articles
Hello. This is in regards to the upcoming Wikipedia improvements Wikipedia:Pushing to 1.0 and Wikipedia:Stable versions, which have the intentions to provide stable versions of articles suitable for prints or publishing.
I've noticed you have written several articles about Swedish matters. If you feel some of these are decent enough to deserve recognition, you are encouraged to nominate them at Wikipedia:Swedish Wikipedians' notice board/Swedish quality articles. In the end, our articles should be comparable to what is expected from the Encyclopedia Britannica. If it currently isn't, but you feel you have spent a considerable amount of time on it, you are still encouraged to nominate it, so that your work will be recognized and others can continue to improve on it. Don't be shy! :-)

Please stop
Hi, please stop updating usertalkpages for 10 minutes. I have something important to say. --Gurubrahma 17:41, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, anyway it is done - actually I had just protected another image from the same lead article. As we follow a FIFO, the swastika bit should have been done first as it would become too old for tomorrow - anyways, it is on the shorter side, so it is probably okay. When you update the template, you should clear those entries from the suggestions section in template talk as they may be again uploaded by another admin sometime later. Again, the updation time counter needs to be extended by 6 hours after every update for the same reason or another admin may update the template within half an hour. Also, try not to use too many articles that have free images in a single update. We are always short of images, and it would be a tough ask to update without images. I asked you to wait as I wanted to remove the Japan entry that had a good image, but you have already informed the user on his talkpage. Anyways, we'll manage somehow in the next couple of days, hopefully. btw, please change the updation time counter (I am unable to do it as I'm working on a slow internet connection right now and some bugs seem to have hit this part of the WP world). You may also want to check the link given in announcements section on template talk. --Gurubrahma 17:52, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
- Also, for images temporarily uploaded from commons, the template is {{C-uploaded}}. Template syntax for user talk page updation is {{subst:UpdatedDYK|[[Name]]}} rather than {{subst:UpdatedDYK|Name}}, but I don't think it matters much either way. Just a tip for your next updation of DYK - "Show preview" button saves many a hassle, especially for items that go on main page - I speak from my own experience ;) --Gurubrahma 17:56, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

I'm flattered that you liked the picture I took of fly fishing enough to use in the Klarälven article. But don't you think it perhaps a bit dishonest to use a picture of fishing in Missouri to illustrate an article about a stream in Sweden? You said:
wikipedia is not the right place for a comprehensible database of barcodes
well, a listing of products that make up our world, actually. The barcodes are just the organising index. Are you worried that Wikipedia would become too big by having an entry for many many items (some of which already have an entry in Wikipedia)???
According to http://www.bartleby.com/65/en/encyclop.htm an encyclopedia is a compendium of knowledge, either general (attempting to cover all fields) and I ask you, what is more pertinent to today's planet earth than the knowledge of its products? In fact, one could argue that this knowledge, or the lack thereof, may well end the existance of knowledge on this earth, including Wikipedia.
I am sure that your deletion is a bad move. I wish to hear the opinions of the other adminstrators. Can you help me?
