Oasis (horticulture)

Oasis is a trademarked name for a spongy phenolic foam used for flower arranging. It soaks up water like a sponge and acts as a preservative to prolong the life of the flowers. It is usually green but also comes in many other colours such as purple, red, yellow, and brown but the coloured forms of it take longer to soak up the water compared with the green form.
Oasis can be bought in arts and craft stores especially ones that have large faux flower collections for doing your own faux flower arranging, sometimes cheap knock-offs of it can be bought in dollar stores.
