Oakland County International Airport (IATA: PTK, ICAO: KPTK) is a large general aviation airport located in Waterford Township, Michigan and 5 mi (8 km) west of Pontiac in Oakland County. It is one of the busiest airports in the United States without scheduled passenger service.[citation needed] Charters carrying teams competing at the nearby Palace of Auburn Hills frequently use the airport as well as a daily Airbus A319 carrying DaimlerChrysler employees to and from Stuttgart, Germany.
The airport was opened in 1928 and originally called Pontiac Municipal Airport.
