Oakdale is a town located along the Emory River in Morgan County, Tennessee, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 244.

Oakdale is located at 35°59'6" North, 84°33'25" West (35.984945, -84.557057)^GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.4 km² (0.9 mi²). 2.4 km² (0.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.15% water.

As of the census^GR2 of 2000, there were 244 people, 92 households, and 64 families residing in the town. The population density was 103.5/km² (268.2/mi²). There were 103 housing units at an average density of 43.7/km² (113.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 92 households out of which 31.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.9% were married couples living together, 14.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.4% were non-families. 28.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.65 and the average family size was 3.25.

In the town the population was spread out with 28.3% under the age of 18, 9.4% from 18 to 24, 29.5% from 25 to 44, 23.8% from 45 to 64, and 9.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 98.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.4 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $26,667, and the median income for a family was $27,083. Males had a median income of $26,875 versus $21,875 for females.
