From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Oachira Temple is an ancient temple in the Indian town of Kayamkulam in Alappuzha district of Kerala State, in southern India. Every year the Oachira Vrishchikam festival is celebrated. Oachirakkali is a famous ritual performed during this festival and it involves mock-fighting in muddy water by traditional martial art experts.
The Oachira Temple is unique in the sense that it does not have a building or a Vigraha. People worship Lord Parabrahma at the base of a Banyan tree.
