[edit] Plot

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Miley, Lilly, and Oliver are in drama class, doing exercises. When their teacher announces they will be doing Romeo and Juliet, both Miley and Lilly are reluctant to end up with Oliver as their partner. However, Miley ends up with Oliver. They start working on the play, but Oliver can't focus, and keeps making silly jokes. Miley soon finds out, that due to an experience a long time ago, Oliver is bad at acting. She gets mad that he is never serious and therefore tells her father she will bail on him, just as Oliver is coming into the room. Oliver gets mad, and later, at a game, Miley sings "Star Spangled Banner", and sing " hrough yonder window breaks?" instead of the proper line. She becomes nationally embarrassed. Miley stays in the fight with Oliver, until she goes on a show called Top Rockers. She is afraid she will mess up, but Lilly, dressed as Lola, brings very large cards with her lyrics on them. However, these lyrics get blocked by many different people, and Hannah finally falls down, and messes up her song. Then Oliver starts singing along, and so does everyone else, and Miley remembers the lyrics. In the end, Miley says comforting words to let Oliver know that she is sorry, and they make up.

Meanwhile, Jackson has to cure Rico's candy habit after a bad trip to the dentist, but this soon becomes his own obsession as he becomes more addicted to candy than Rico was. Then Jackson has a dream that he will get really fat and Rico will get very strong. Then Jackson wakes up and tries to stop eating junk food. While watching his sister's concert and eating carrots, he has a hallucination that the pillows on the couch are talking chocolate bunnies.

[edit] Trivia

  • The episode title refers to Francis Scott Key's poem "The Star-Spangled Banner" which became the United States national anthem. This poem turned song has the lyrics, "Oh, Say Can You See?"
  • This episode marks another of Lilly's disguises alongside Miley's disguise as Hannah Montana. This time her hair is purple. Lilly keeps using different colored wigs for Lola (red, lavender, light blue, and coming soon, orange).
  • First appearance of Miley's Teacher
  • The girl who dropped the ice-cream was played by Noah Lindsey Cyrus who is the sister of Miley Cyrus.
  • When Jackson ate the ice cream cone dropped on the beach, he is eating granola, not sand.

[edit] Quotes

  • Miley: (when she can't remember the words to the National Anthem) Uh...um...(grabs two cups) I'm a cup fly! Ya get it? Buzz?
  • Miley: I had the most awful dream...I forgot the national anthem in front of thousands of people.
Lilly: Hehe. That wasn't a dream.
Miley: You couldn't play along for like a minute.
  • Young Oliver: (dressed as Abraham Lincoln) Four score and...four score and...(takes two oranges from behind his back) I'm a fruit fly! Abraham fruit fly...
  • Miley: But what if I forget the words to one of my songs. Or I forget to put my costume on. Then I'd be singing in my underwear.
Lilly: That'd be quite a show.
  • Miley: (To Lilly) Just stop your flappin and eat your flapjacks!
  • Jackson: (Inside the house with a beehive, angry bees trying to follow) Stupid selfish bees! How much honey do you need? (Begins eating honey from the hive)
  • Jackson: (Two chocolate bunnies are perched on the counter of Rico's Surf Shop) Oh, here we are, in happy Bunnyland, Tokyo! (Thunping heard below) Oh, no! What's that? (Thumping continues) It's Jackzilla! Run for your bunny lives! (Jackson then appears from below the counter, looks at the bunnies evily for a brief second, then begins eating them)
