O Dragão da Maldade Contra o Santo Guerreiro (The Dragon of Evil Against the Saint Warior also known as Antônio das Mortes) is a 1969 Brazilian film directed by Glauber Rocha. It is the sequel to God and Devil in the Land of Sun. It stars Othon Bastos, Maurício do Valle, Odete Lara and Hugo Carvana. The movie won Glauber Rocha the award for Best Director in Cannes Film Festival.

[edit] Plot Summary

The movie stars Maurício De Valle as a mercenary peacekeeper. Agreeing to hunt down and kill rebel soldiers, the mercenary becomes increasingly drawn to the rebel's cause. His 11th-hour turnaround does not prevent the film from ending in a bloodbath. Antônio das Mortes unabashedly casts its lot with such insurgents as Che Guevara. As such, this film had difficulty finding an American distributor until two years later.
