The NZR TR class is a class of diesel shunting locomotives built by many different manufacturers. The first locomotives of this class were built by the Drewry Car company in 1936. Many of these locomotives are now withdrawn, although some are still in service. The most powerful of these locomotives were Japanese-built Hitachi TRs.
