{{NYCS}} is a universal template intended to replace older NYCS templates such as {{NYCS 5}} and {{NYCS time}}.

- 1 (or first unnamed parameter)
- The page name without the (New York City Subway service) suffix

- 2 (or second unnamed parameter)
- The link text, if left blank the value from 1 will be used
- 3 (or third unnamed parameter)
- If given will provide a link {{{3}}} to be used in place of the {{NYCS time}}.

If {{NYCS time}} follows the template intended to replace it, such as {{NYCS 5}} followed by {{NYCS time|1234}}, replace them with {{NYCS|5||1234}}. Do this for all non-rush templates. For rush templates, such as {{NYCS 6 rush}} followed by {{NYCS time|12}}, replace them with {{NYCS|6|<6>|12}}. Do this for all rush templates.
