A young girl is found murdered in her hospital room, five days after getting into a car accident which left her paralyzed and her passenger dead. As Hawkes used to work at the hospital, a bitter confrontation with his old boss, the hospital's chief of staff, reminds of him of why he quit being a doctor to become a coroner. |
