My name is Tomas Hood, and my FCC-assigned Extra Class Amateur Radio license callsign is 'NW7US'. My primary 'About' page is here: About NW7US, and my alternative 'backup page' is here: NW7US.

I am a technical writer and a programmer (Perl, C (C++, C#, etc.), BASIC (VB, Visual Basic .NET, etc.), PASCAL, Assorted assembly languages, XML, WML/WAP, and assorted other programming languages).

I run various web sites and dabble in music as a writer/composer.

I love my kittens, my family, and my God (I'm a Protestant in my beliefs, in that I am not a Catholic nor an Eastern Orthodoxian Christian).

I am fascinated by space weather and radio signal (radio wave) propagation with a special love for shortwave radio. I love old radio shows, and a lot of books that I've read.

The Web sites that I have created and run include the following:

I work for a company that provides various services including technical writing. I currently write Knowledge Base articles for Microsoft.

I am the contributing editor for the propagation columns of the following magazines:

Occassionally, I write about propagation in Monitoring Times.

I also participate in a few e-mail reflector groups that discuss space weather and radio propagation:
