Nund Reshi

Nund Reshi (formal names: Noor-ud -Din Noorani or Sheikh-ul -Alam) was the founder of the Reshi, or Rishi, sect of Sufism located in Kashmir.

Nunda Reshi, also known as Nunda Rishi, Alamdar-e-Kashmir and Sheikh-ul-Alam, is the patron saint of Kashmiri popular religion. He is also known for his shruks, short poems, which are often about his own inner spiritual struggle. Nund Rishi assimilated Hindu and Buddhist philosophy into his teachings which was largely aimed at the Kashmiri peasantary.
